Charles Mautz is the Managing Member and Chief Investment Officer of CHAM, where he is responsible for the firm’s strategic direction and oversees all investment activities, including research, portfolio construction, and manager selection. Under his leadership, CHAM funds have achieved top-ten annual performance rankings among multi-manager funds globally on twelve occasions.
Mr. Mautz brings over two decades of experience across investment management, strategy, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to founding CHAM, he served as a Managing Director at Aequitas Capital Management, where he led the development of new investment products and oversaw fund management activities from 2005 to 2007.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Mautz held senior strategic and M&A roles in Los Angeles and New York. From 1999 to 2004, he led strategy and mergers and acquisitions at CMS, a leading financial research distribution firm. Prior to CMS, he managed subsidiaries and led acquisition initiatives for a $1.8 billion division of Itochu Corporation, one of Japan’s leading trading companies.
Mr. Mautz graduated cum laude from Harvard University.
